Non-contact temperature measurement for industry and R&D

Optris manufactures infrared measurement devices for industrial temperature measurement, including stationary IR thermometers and infrared cameras for point and area measurement. Along with free thermal analysis software, Optris measurement devices enable constant monitoring and control of virtually every manufacturing process and reductions in production costs through specific process optimization.

Optris infrared cameras

Optris infrared cameras: are fully radiometric stationary thermographic systems with an excellent price-performance ratio. The thermal imaging cameras are connected to a PC via USB and they are immediately ready to be used. Temperature data is displayed through the license-free analysis software Optris PIX Connect. The software also includes two SDKs for Windows and Linux as well as drivers for LabVIEW and MATLAB.

The Compact and the Precision Line

The Compact and the Precision Line offer thermal imagers for all applications.
Advantages of the Xi Compact Line

Advantages of the PI Precision Line

  • Interchangeable lenses
  • Suited for fast processes (up to 1 kHz)
  • High thermal sensitivity (down to 40 mK NETD)
  • High optical resolution (up to 640 x 480 pixels)
  • Laser blocking filters
  • Temperature measuring ranges from -20 to 2000°C
  • Different spectral ranges (500 nm / 1 μm / 7.9 μm / 7.5 – 13 μm)
  • Cooling accessories for harsh environments up to 315 °C ambient temperature
  • Shipped in rugged outdoor case with tripod and individual test report included
  • Microscope optics for circuit boards and tiny electronic components down to 85 µm (MFOV)

General advantages of both thermal camera series

Experiencing real-time thermal images with a frame rate of up to 128 Hz, capturing and saving fast measurement results as snapshots or video sequences or, thanks to the excellent thermal sensitivity, indicating even the smallest changes in temperature.

Including optics and cable, the Optris thermal imaging cameras weigh less than 320 grams (11.3 oz), making them the smallest infrared cameras in the world (dimensions up to 46 x 56 x 90 mm [1.81 x 2.20 x 3.54 in]).

Automatic hot spot detection

Objects can be examined thermally, and hot or cold spots can be found automatically to reveal weak spots in the process.

Fast temperature measurements

With thermal imagers, temperature distributions on surfaces can be captured precisely within a millisecond interval.

Extensive software with line scan mode

The accompanying software Optris PIX Connect helps you with comprehensive temperature data analysis and documentation.

Additionally, the software contains a line scan mode which is generally used for processes with moving objects under test.

Pyrometers of the Compact Series

Optris offers the industrial benchmark within affordable industrial pyrometers regarding the sensing heads’ size, robustness, and temperature rating. The different spectral options allow temperature measurements of plastics, metal, glass, and ceramics from -50-1030°C (-58°F to 1886°F) with temperature resolution down to 25 mK. Different optical options support a high distance-to-spot-size ratio to ensure an optimal focus on the target for high-temperature accuracy.

With the miniaturized M12 stainless steel measuring head, these sensors are designed to fit even the tightest spaces, setting an industrial standard for integration efficiency.

Due to their unique electronics layout, the sensing head endures an ambient temperature of up to 180°C (356 °F), which allows close positioning next to heat sources.

The sensors offer analog mV or mA output, including an optional simple 2-wiring, which allows straightforward electrical setup. The intelligent LED display works optionally as an alarm signal, target support, self-diagnosis, or temperature-code display. The optional USB adapter supports an effortless configuration through our smartphone app or the Windows software.

Infrared Thermometers

The infrared thermometers of the Optris CSlaser/CTlaser series consist of an innovative double laser sighting, in contrast to many IR thermometers with single lasers which only mark the center of the spot. The two laser beams follow the infrared optical path to mark the position of the measuring field at any distance.

At the focus point, both lasers are crossing – this greatly supports an exact alignment and reduces measurement errors. The infrared thermometers of this class are mainly used in industrial areas as well as in research and development. Small measurement field sizes are of great importance for precise temperature measurement. A number of different focus versions allow a flexible adjustment for the different applications.
